Combine a Love of Outdoor Adventure, Libations and Farm-to-Table Bites in Naples, N.Y.
Slow down and discover Naples! People often think of Italy or Florida.
This Naples is a quaint community in the western Finger Lakes Region in NY. It’s set against beautiful views of the Bristol Hills and a sweet respite from big-city life offering outdoor adventure from enthusiasts to the hard-core.
Over a hundred years ago it was called the wine center of the East. Some remaining vineyards still dot the hills. It’s also home of Grape Pie and you haven’t truly experienced Naples without trying a slice.
During early fall, you can catch a whiff of the sweet smell of Concord grapes as you stroll through the village. It’s a sign of a new season ushering in.

FLX Libations and Bites
The Finger Lakes are a group of eleven long, narrow, lakes in an area called the Finger Lakes region in New York. The Finger Lakes region is home to more than 100 wineries, breweries, cideries and distilleries. And the region continues to host new ones including eateries and creameries.
There is a long winemaking history and the FLX region produces award-winning wines every single year. At one time the wines were not too popular. The area is now THRIVING and named wine region of the year in 2018.
FLX Signature Wine Style
The area’s renown cool climate plays a major role in its varietal whites particularly Riesling. You can sip sweet Riesling to bone-dry Riesling or indulge in a Riesling Ice dessert wine. They’re all delicious and often it depends on the moment for which one to try. Personally, I like a chilled Rose during the hotter months.
The region is also gaining attention for its red varieties such as Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Franc is a favorite – dry and a bit spicy unlike the big, juicy California reds.
Needless to say, I’m a FLX fan and only choose FLX libations when available. It’s the only kind I share with family & friends.
Now the most popular area is Seneca Lake as it offers the most wineries to visit. To it’s east is Cayuga Lake and Kueka Lake to its west. Canandaigua Lake is the furthest west and where Naples is located.
Craft Beer, Everywhere
Ten years ago, finding a decent craft beer in the Finger Lakes was liking trying to find Waldo. You were driving tens-of-miles along scenic the countryside and lakes to grab a tasty pint. Fast forward to and you are likely to come upon a micro-brewery along each lake and what’s really cool is the each one is unique in its offering and style of beer. If you’re looking for hoppy, lagers and pilsners or a real funky, experimental craft beer… you’ll find it. Most if not all of the FLX breweries are family friendly. It’s not uncommon to find a Food Truck and live music.
If craft beer is your thing, guaranteed there’s one you will find in the region to raise a pint, toasting to life and having fun!
